Virtual guided tour

Do you want to prepare for your visit to the Rubens House? Or would you like an idea of the artworks on show in the museum? This virtual guided tour will give you an overview of the various rooms in the museum and some of the exhibits.

The virtual guided tour is based on the functions that the rooms were assigned during the restoration that preceded the opening of the museum in 1946. But do they correspond with the Rubens House as Rubens knew it?

Because of a lack of historical details, the present layout and room designations are a reconstruction. In the 16th and 17th centuries, the rooms were regularly put to different use. The present building was largely rebuilt with the restoration. Only the doorway and the garden pavilion are original. But the museum you visit gives a good atmospheric impression of a 17th-century town palace and artist’s house.
