The tour of the Rubens House continues to the Parlour. This room is situated on the left side of the entrance, under the covered porchway.
This is where you step inside the living quarters of the historic house, which was built in the traditional Flemish architectural style of the 16th century.
In this room
The two prints by Jacob Harrewijn are the oldest known pictures of the house.
In Rubens’ day, well-heeled townspeople spent their summers at their country estates, far from the bustling cities.
