After a smashing first edition, The Cabinet Sessions are back! On Friday 27 June, performance artists Gregory Frateur and Fleur Pierets will take you on a musical journey through art and activism. Enjoy summer DJ sets by Hantrax and others, and celebrate Rubens’s birthday at the stroke of midnight with a silent disco in the garden. Don’t miss this Birthday Edition!

Start at 8.30 p.m.

Can art save the world? An age-old question that continues to be a burning topic today. Writer and performance artist Fleur Pierets shares her inspired vision in a candid yet empowering talk during The Cabinet Sessions. Together with the audience, she reflects on the role of art in contemporary activism. Singer and performer Gregory Frateur, who is also the lead singer of Dez Mona, provides a musical response together with curator B-Classic’s band. The result? A stimulating performance imbued with stillness, wonder and inspiration.

Start at 10 p.m.

Dance under the stars with a lineup of three great DJs. Hantrax, artist in residence of the Rubenshuis, The Sorry DJs and Milinguap serve up cool beats and a banging atmosphere. Thanks to the silent disco headphones, you can enjoy a more personalised experience.

Want to take home a souvenir from Rubens’s garden? Discover how to create your own prints with real leaves, flowers and branches during this fun workshop. You too can be an artist for one evening, using the gelli plate printing technique (an intuitive, analogue process with surprising results) and Rubens’ garden as your canvas.

Every year, the Rubens House presents the key to the cabinet to an inspiring curator. In 2025, B-Classic will be taking visitors on a journey into their world. B-Classic facilitates encounters between artists, genres and audiences, breaking down the boundaries of classical music and exploring how music, today and in the past, is made and experienced. B-Classic makes room for artists and makers, giving them the space they need to research, create, and present their work.
